Somewhere Life Is A Figment of Imagination

I am

Say a word,
And see the smile,
Lilt in the darkness,
While you walk another mile,

Sip on the feeling,
Whispering sweet everything,
Rest a while,
And bring on back that faded self denial,

Just lose all the reason,
Like a tear drop in every season,
In a state of self denial,
Oh! Yeah! It’s been a while

Winds of Change

A strong wind, Aeolian paradise,
Message floats away, picked up by the wind,
Caught shamelessly by the vicious & thorny flowers,
It bleeds and bleeds until death,

A new lease of life,
Nurtured until the wings reappear,
Wind dies,
But this time, confidence soars

Way of Life

Withering whispers,
A smile from the weird sisters,
Time slips in to the future,
Just, swaying backwards and forwards,

A leap across the gilded sun,
And all that makes us run,
From hither and thither,
Oh! This life, ain’t it fun?

Pick yourself, from every fallen stair,
Let the blood & tear evaporate,
For, just play your part and be lost
Care not, what it cost,

Shadows of another day,
Long drawn, and dark,
Just a reminder,
Of a long night to come,

Way of life and starry nights,
Wicked throes of passionate bites,
Slithering smile on the lips of heaven,
Wallows and thunders, at this hour of eleven

Woolgather

The tree line slowly fading at a distance,
As the night descends, on the face of the earth,
Headlights turn on to keep the wheels rolling,
Down the winding roads of the misty mountains,

Just the thought, a beautiful one at that,
Holding hands, swaying to the winds,
The chillness outside, and the warm within,
Beside the hearth, as the candle dies,

Hazy gray sky, the evening drizzle,
Brings on memories to reminisce,
As the head rests on the shoulder,
Love is in the air as she breathes low,

The sweet lullabies kiss,
And the dreams wave in

There She Stands

There she stands, with arms crossed around her chest,
Wondering if she rode on the trough or a crest,
Just when she’s trying to snuggle into her nest,
Life decides to put her to the test,

Shaken out of her wits,
She can see her privacy torn to bits,
Catches his eye staring at her tits,
Just enough to throw her into fits,

Her nervousness is killing,
And her partner hasn’t yet finished grilling,
Says he has a car and many a shilling,
Both have the beans, but who does the spilling?

Waits for her turn and asks of her mother in law,
How she behaves and all her flaw,
Are you sure she has nails for claw?
And so went on her questions and all the blah,

They were engaged and were free to hold hands,
Ride in the car and compromised to demands,
If wishes were horses, this time they were only commands,
Their chatter would put to shame the noise of a thousand bands,

They were married soon enough,
Now time to draw the cigarette puff,
Expected clobbers of all the bluff,
And life went on and all the stuff,

Time that kids arrived, she wasn’t prepared,
Patience lost, tempers flared,
And all the mistakes simply glared,
Thinking of future, she was scared,

The kids grew and so did their despise,
She wanted them to reach for the skies,
Thinking of them, would moist her eyes,
But, the kids decided to break all ties,

Future, was an invasion and a hostile take over,
Of a life she had yet to discover

Sweet Syrup

Watch as the pasqueflowers bloom,
True to their name, and out of the bloody gloom,
Hold a hand and kiss the faith,
Dance in the rain, and kick the wraith,

Nothing is false and nothing is true,
Live a life, drink the strange brew,
Wake up early, and sleep late,
Welcome to the enchanting journey of my fate,

Smell the sweet grass and smoke it too,
Head is spinning, I’m who?
Virtue, done away with just a sneeze,
Spread my wings, here I’m waiting for the breeze,

Come on, come and pick me up,
Let us go, have some sweet syrup

Oracle

Simple rules, or so it seems,
We the fools or so he deems,
Fall in cesspools and hear the screams,
The blind man rules or so he dreams,

Churning misery at every step,
A setting ennui, need a pep,
It happened in history, in the month of Sep,
Clandestine mystery, veiled in skep,

Mark the setting sun, at its meridian,
Sink and run and wear a medallion,
Win the big race son; sleep in a mausoleum,
Life is fun and Mephistophelean.

P.S: The Oracle didn’t exactly tell me what I wanted to hear. Maybe, I was just not ready for it. But, that was many a summer ago…almost a decade. Much water has flowed and now the Oracle is nowhere in sight…

Liquid Dream

Recursive dreams,
Bursting at its seams,
Some happy and some of sorrow,
Laughing and crying like there’s no tomorrow,

Shameless pride,
Of an exquisite bride,
Is mending a broken stick,
While tripping the light fantastic,

Light at the end of a tunnel,
The liquid dream drops through a funnel,
A sashay into an uncharted domain,
Or maybe it’s a high priest’s ordain,

Is a bright red love’s synapse,
A beautiful mind’s relapse?
And I see light at the end of a tunnel,
As my liquid dream gushes through a funnel

soliloquy - Scene 1

The day is done. Now officially hooked and as Ganesh puts it, I’m hooked, booked and finally not too long from now, cooked.

Morpheus: Take the Blue pill and you’ll stay in the wonderland forever; Take the Red pill and I’ll show you how deep the rabbit hole goes …

Neo: I swear I haven’t a clue which pill I popped … Oh Poop! Did the ophthalmologist say I had colour blindness when I visited him last month?

Eyewitness: Goodbye Dorothy, Kansas is going bye bye.

Neo: This was not supposed to happen … the Oracle told me my first one wouldn’t work

Oracle: … like they teach in Harvard; “Like your first love, your first business fails too”.

Neo: But…this ain’t business right? Maybe, the Oracle is wrong…

Oracle: Nope…there still could be many a slip between the cup and the lip.

Neo: Damn…now which pill did I pop?

Would be In-Laws: We’ve got him

Crowd: Will he survive?

Oracle: Time alone will tell…but where’s the architect?

Scented Mayweed

Somewhere I feared my five point theory was baseless and unwarranted. The spider’s net wasn’t really appealing and didn’t look too comfortable. Just wasn’t “inviting” enough for my liking. And just then came, a strong gale, to douse this fire away…and hailed for the longest period I’ve known.

Train

No way to slow down,
The ever running machine,
On the rails of gold,
No stopping it this day,
The engine is warm, and the air is cold,

Hear the shrill of her whistle,
The driver is soot faced Mr. Thistle,
Says he's the Man and she's the bride,
He really enjoys the ride,
This machine is his pride,

Chugging is this old beauty,
Over rivers and hills,
Passing through tunnels and windmills,
Children waving their hands with a glee on their face,
This lady still has grace,

Oh! Look, the break of dawn,
The sun rising, but we are gone,
To greet another land,
On this gilded grand,
Lost in time and our memories canned.

So Long

So long, Emily, after long,
Time, just does not belong,
To you or me, we just need to go home,
Garden of life, here we roam,

Life is sitting pretty, in the park bench,
Life is digging a trench,
Life is cool, in the sweltering heat,
Spread-eagled on the ground beneath your feet,

No this ain't a melancholic song,
My bell just goes ding-a-ding-a-dong,
So long, Emily, after long,
Time, just does not belong,

And now, it has been a while,
Is life worthy of reconcile?
Just a pat on the back and a slap on the face,
No, No, na, na, life is not a disgrace,

So long, Emily, after long,
Time, just does not belong,
So, I just sing my song,
Hum a tune and go where I belong…

Me, Myself & Ego

From here to there,
Hiding here, and everywhere,
Slipping into itself,
Every minute is the great big self,

Grab on and hold tight,
What works is brawn and only might,
The end of tunnel, but where’s light?
Life, it seems is telling “go fly kite”,

Tired and fatally flawed,
Our ego’s fired, let’s maraud,
The fields of pasqueflowers in the wild,
To unearth the times we whiled,

Demented and surrounded by gadflies,
Just with the one eye, Cyclops cries,
Tears and blood flow too deep,
What you sow is what you reap

***

A walk on the shore,
Reminiscence of yonder and yore,
Hear a lonely dog bark,
Along the long road leave our mark,

A dreamt world,
Longing for a glimpse,
To cry you a song,
This home is where we belong,

Myriad seashells,
On a long stretch of white sands,
Our mind smiles,
And walks many miles,

A calm silence surrounds,
All is in equilibrium,
Secret desires resurface,
With just a glance at that anonymous face,

Life is but a dream,
Life is but a dream,

A spirit, in whom we trust,
Has wanderlust,
And all the bronze bells toll,
A sign for the cattle to return home,

Makes us wonder,
When the pied piper toots a tune,
In all our glory, mesmerized,
We fall into the whispering winds,

Enchanted, but elegantly wasted,
Our heads tucked under cerulean skies,
Waiting for a miracle man,
As the hero within expires.

Part 1

Star-studded skies,
Waves of emotions and a million lies,
Pushed to shatter all ties,

Follow the rhythm, your guiding light,
On a dark day and a lonely night,
Cling to your soul; hold on tight,

Shed a tear and wear that smile,
All life is just revile,
And we still have to walk many a mile,

For you and I to survive,
To live on to another day,
While the sun still shines, make that hay,

Twang of the bow and the poison dart,
Couldn’t do much damage to the bleeding heart,
Not a bad start,

For you and I to survive,
To live on to another day, indeed,
The hero's got to bleed,

The destination is unknown,
But we’ve spread our wings and flown,
Polished & chromed, did you see how it shone?

For you and I to survive,
To live on to another day, indeed,
To my words, you’ve got to heed

Life Is A Voodoo

Too soon, too early,
The big blow turned her life swirly,
Scarred for life, stirred and shaken,
To a new day, she does not want to awaken,

Tears in her eyes,
Are manifestations of her aching soul,
Life, which forever she will despise,
Is black and is as black as coal,

She questions destiny,
No answers are forthcoming, destiny is mute,
Life is all and tyranny,
It is something her young mind refuses to compute,

Life has traded her nightmares for sleep,
Life she thinks is far too deep,
All night she screams in fright,
While life grins at her in delight,

She is god damn confused,
Her heart is bleeding and bruised,
She knows not what to do,
For her, life is a voodoo.

Of Tranquility & Turbulence

Listening to the wind blow,
Listening to the water flow,
Looking at a resplendent face glow,
In the morning sun, walking slow,

Her tune, his hum and my whistle blow,
I have the field of pasqueflowers to mow,
But the music is lingering, and I stand still,
Yes, life is turbulently tranquil

Signs of Life

Seeds that have been sown,
Signs of life,
Know not where they have grown

Of Wishes and Horses

Everyday I get out of my bed,
Thinking of things never said,
If my wishes were a horse,
Would draw them to the water of remorse,

I'd walk a step, walk a mile,
A bridge, fall out of file,
Cross it, regroup and walk again,
Oh! Why, it's perfectly sane,

Here I am, tempt me now,
In this life, with all you’ve got and how,
While you sit back and play second fiddle,
Will head out and uncover the riddle,

My pony has grown wings,
A flying unicorn, such joy it brings,
A thud, a fall below to the ground, I run,
The dream is over, or has it just begun?

I'd walk a step, wear a smile,
But the world looks in revile
Cross it, regroup and walk again,
Oh! This time in vain

Lil' Emily

Little Emily wanted to play,
With all her little friends except Fey,
To let her hair loose and dance away,
In the bright mid summer’s day,

She made models in clay,
While her friends howled hip hip hurray!
She wanted everybody to stay,
Since she did not share her toys, all went away,

Emily made friends with a donkey and loved his bray,
She rode on him everyday,
The meandering stream; listening to jazz by the bay,
Made her incredibly happy and gay,

One day lil’ Emily on the mountain of pasqueflowers she lay,
Lovingly looked at the donkey but had something to say,
Just then the mighty rotten dragon arrived and to the donkey said “hey”!
“That’s my sweet Emily, for the love of your bones, you better hide away”

No Name

Climb a hill,
Walk the lane,
Build a windmill,
But still miss the train,

Wear a smile,
Till the cheekbones hurt,
Wait a long while,
In solitude and turn to dirt,

Lose your love, to keep a friend...

The Next Step

Had a lovely evening today. Met up with a dear friend and her new found love. What a sweet couple they made. Seemed just perfect for each other. Finally good to see the rock crumbling. No, it is crumbling for a reason, so that it can become the very foundation for the long private road called life on which they can hold hands and walk, each step, together, all the way till their hearts ripe.

May god give them strength, perseverance, patience, peace and fill their hearts with love for each other, forever.
